The brief

FPT School came to us with a song and a message: a school education is more than lessons. Learning, activities and daily life at FPT all count towards who a student grows up to be. They wanted a music video that made people feel that "360°" idea.

The decision that made it work

We took "360°" literally as well. The idea was about the whole of school life, so we built the film around a few signature shots where the camera circles all the way around the students.

The lead cast performs the song, and the school's own dance club joins them as the supporting cast, so the energy on screen comes from real students.

What made it hard

The choreography. We created it with the lead cast, the dance club joined in, and it had to work for the camera as well as for the dancers, especially in the 360° shots, where there is nowhere to hide a missed step. It was the hardest part of the job, and we came out of it much more confident directing dance.

Schools, universities and youth brands that want a film their own students will share: a song, a lot of movement, and the students themselves on screen.
